![]() I own Remarkable and Boox devices.Be wary of the promise that Boox devices seem to suggest regarding Android flexibility. Official answer from reMarkable is 3-6 weeks depending on usage. How often you'll need to change the tips of the penĪny other aspects you'd like to comment about the RM2 All official templates are built in to their software. reMarkable does not provide template to be side loaded.Alternative is via the usb + web interface linkĪre there any official free templates available to download to the device? Is it easy to export/inport files from a laptop/usb? not yet tested but according to review of others, it should be just fine.(Stupid question but) does the notes and highlighted texts stays in the same place accurately when exporting the pdf from the device to a laptop? Won't not recommend for long usage under lowlight condition.įor the hand-writing to text feature, does RM2 convert it into a pdf then send it to your email, or can it send the text as it is (so I can copy the text from the email to a word document in OneDrive)? Night with dim light could be challenging for the eyes. no backlight if that's what you meant.Does it affect reading at night/in dim places a lot? I've read that RM2 doesn't let you to change the lightness of the screen. Still rather new but loving the investment □ You can do just like I did, and get both, to keep one.Ĭomments I can say based on 1 week of experience. If you are looking for a device you can really use as a productivity tool, get the Boox Note Air. I've been a Remarkable fanboy for a long time. Sorry for going against the popular opinion. If you drop the Remarkable, it's game over because it's all glass. And finally, the Boox has a strong cheap $40 case, where the Boox snaps into. With the RM you are forced to use only their cloud, and that one is not even secure. and you can a lot easier share documents. With the Boox Note Air you can connect to Dropbox, Evernote. My coding books are all messed up because the RM reader can't handle code snippets. The reading experience is not optimal on the Remarkable, even with the latest software update. On the Boox you can even read Kindle Books, and install other apps via Google Play. The Boox Note Air supports it all since it's both a note-taking device and a reader. In the RM2 you don't have bookmarks, you can't see the notes or markings on an index. With the RM2 it takes ages to open up any large pdfs or epubs. ![]() There is a little more lag on the Boox than on the RM2, but the difference is small. The RM2 is also glass, and the hardware of the e-ink screen is identical. You won't notice any real difference in lag, even if you put both devices next to each other.
